Jane’s Royal Watch: Harry and Meghan rehearse; will Elton perform?

WILD ABOUT HARRY (AND MEGS): Windsor is officially in royal frenzy mode — if it wasn’t already — with the arrival of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Thursday for their wedding rehearsal ahead of Saturday’s big day at St. George’s Chapel.

A photo of the couple, being driven down The Long Walk in Windsor, showed Markle smiling, fiddling with her wedding ring and wearing a white shirt, according to The Telegraph.

A still-bearded Harry was more looking more serious — who could blame him with those in-laws! (Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland being the exception) — was also dressed casually in a grey sweater and white shirt.

Via a statement released by Kensington Palace, Meghan confirmed her father, Thomas Markle Sr., who underwent heart surgery on Wednesday to put in three stents and is recovering in Mexico, wouldn’t be walking her down the aisle.

“Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding,” she said. “I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health. I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday. “

Markle Sr., earlier caused major drama when it was revealed he cooperated with the paparazzi to create staged photos.

MILITARY MOVES: As Meghan and Harry rehearsed, the military took over the town of Windsor and The Long Walk practising their part in Saturday’s festivities.

Thousands turned out to see how the couple’s post-ceremony horse-drawn carriage ride through town will go with about 250 armed forces members expected to be involved.

Even better news: Thursday’s blue skies and sun are expected to stick around for the weekend.

GET A LITTLE ACTION IN? Will Saturday Night ‘s Alright For Fighting be part of the set list?

TMZ is reporting that Elton John will perform at Saturday’s royal wedding, although Kensington Palace has yet to weigh in.

The theory is John, who is married to Canadian David Furnish, will either tinkle the ivories at the daytime televised church ceremony or the Frogmore House private reception at night.

The Rocket Man is a longtime pal of the royals, particularly Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, as he performed a reworked version of Candle in the Wind at her funeral.

“Both of those boys (Harry and William) are very special to me because of their mother,” John told ITV earlier this year.

He also said he was on holiday in Sicily with Harry last summer and could “tell he was totally in love” with Markle.

WHEN FIVE BECOMES THREE: Oh, the horror!

The New York Post is reporting only three of the five Spice Girls have been invited to the royal wedding.

A source told Page Six: “Only Victoria (Beckham), Emma (Bunton) and Geri (Halliwell) were invited, so clearly, the Spice Girls were never going to perform.”

Earlier, Mel B hinted the group would reunite and perform at the reception.

She remains at home in L.A. and was in fact, never invited, nor was Mel C, according to Page Six.

0PIPPA’S POOCHED: Also left off the guest list, according to Radar Online, is Pippa Middleton, Kate Middleton’s sister, leaving Meghan’s future sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge, “seething,” a sourced told the website.

“Meghan not inviting Pippa to the wedding has upset Kate,” the source claimed.

But fair’s fair: Pippa didn’t invite Meghan to her wedding last May, either.
