Second man charged in Toronto man’s slaying in Richmond Hill

RICHMOND HILL — A second man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a Toronto man whose body was found in a vehicle in Richmond Hill.

York Regional Police say the body of 22-year-old Matthew Arcara was found last Thursday around 6:50 a.m. on Bayswater Ave., near Emily Court, following a tip from Toronto Police regarding a home invasion.

Investigators said they believed Arcara was killed and two suspects then went to a condo at 100 Harbour St. in Toronto where he lived.

At that location, two men were tied up and robbed, and Arcara’s dog was killed.

Arjuna Paramsothy, 31, of Newmarket, was arrested later that day and charged first-degree murder, two counts each of robbery using a firearm and forcible confinement, and single counts of disguise with intent and killing an animal.

Brandon Hudson, 22, of Richmond Hill, has now also been arrested and is facing identical charges.

Both accused are scheduled for court appearances on June 1.
