DOUG THE DOER
While some have made comparisons between Premier Doug Ford and President Donald Trump, those comparisons are not only lazy and simplistic, but also inaccurate.
Given his enacting of the notwithstanding clause for his municipal government legislation, clearly he is more Larry the Cable Guy than Donald Trump.

STRIKES FOR ALL
I agree with the person who wrote about teaching (“Back to the basics,” Letters to the editor, Sept. 9).
I am 90 and my schooling started at age five, but at 17 it was interrupted by the Second World War, where I spent seven years in the Royal Navy where my job was to repair radio and radar.
This was without the aid of hand-held devices, but we managed with the skills our teachers taught us with the three R’s.
And I don’t remember our teachers ever going on strike. Shame on them today.

Re “Mind-altering breast milk?” (Associated Press, Aug. 27): Reading this makes me very concerned for Canadians, as the date of legalization approaches, should this not be a problem that is being looked at?
Should the use of marijuana by pregnant women not be more of a concern?
This unborn baby is being harmed without its knowledge and if there are long-lasting effects on the baby, who is the one who is experiencing the hardship and the pain? The mother or the child? The child. So how should it even be allowed for the mother to use marijuana during pregnancy knowing that the child is going to be the one experiencing the negative effects.
A finding that is truly mind-blowing and really something that should be taken more seriously. If the amount of pregnant marijuana users is already increasing, what will happen when it is officially legalized?

STOP BASHING TRUDEAU
It is so wrong for the Toronto Sun and its staff to always bad mouth Justin Trudeau.
What is wrong with Lorrie Goldstein and the others like him. One can feel the hatred you have. Most of the comments you make are based on nothing but hate. People like you cause people to take up causes, and yours is hate. You divide people and protect others. You favour Trump over Trudeau while he would do nothing for us, just like he does for his own country.
I have read the Sun for years and I can say you are the same today as many years ago – stories based on hate. Countries are not built on hate but working together. I know you are aware which one you are. Why are you not running the country if you feel you are so wise.
