Man, 30, shot in Malton becomes Peel Region’s 21st murder victim of 2018

Investigators are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 30-year-old man was shot to death at a Mississauga townhouse complex Tuesday afternoon.

Peel Regional Police say gunfire erupted at 7475 Goreway Dr., north of Rexdale Blvd., around 5:45 p.m.

“Shortly after, a man arrived at Etobicoke General Hospital suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and later succumbed to his injuries,” police said in a statement released Wednesday. “It has been determined that the victim was associated to the incident on Goreway Dr.”

The victim — identified as Dorren Campbell, of Mississauga — becomes Peel Region’s 21st murder victim of the year and the ninth killed by gunfire.

“Investigators believe this is an isolated incident,” police said. “The investigation is ongoing and at this time there is no suspect information.”

No further details were immediately released.
