SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — With far less buildup than a night earlier, the Raptors were once again without the services of Kawhi Leonard.
It’s the fourth game in 11 that he has missed. He jammed his left foot on Friday in Phoenix. The decision was made in Los Angeles without Leonard even taking the court for any pre-game testing. He did that in Salt Lake City and decided against playing.
For the second time in those four missed games, Leonard’s loss was offset by the loss of Utah Jazz leading scorer Donovan Mitchell.
Mitchell missed time earlier with a hamstring pull and then suffered an ankle injury Saturday in Denver.
The Raptors will enjoy a day off Tuesday in the California capital of Sacramento before taking on the Kings on Wednesday night in the fourth and final game of this west coast road swing.
Leonard’s absence meant a second consecutive start for OG Anunoby who is finding his legs offensively, but defensively has been right back to form from a year ago.
