CHECK YOURSELF JUSTIN
Why the hell is Trudeau going to the Vimy Ridge memorial when we Canadians know he has no use for our military, yet alone our veterans. He shows this by wanting to bring back ISIS fighters to Canada and paying large sums of money (which should be going to our veterans) to convicted terrorists. This trip to Vimy Ridge is just another photo op. He has shown in the past he has no compassion for our men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice but he bends over backwards apologizing for things this generation has nothing to do with. By the way, Mr. Selfie, keep track of the carbon emission you’re producing for this photo opportunity.
(He certainly does not have the deep respect and appreciation for our military other prime ministers have had in the past)
Re “StatsCan info grab needs to be stopped” (Editorial, Nov. 4): I am 74. My father served as a navigator in the RCAF in the Second World War. He suffered a mental breakdown during his tenure over Europe. He was a veteran. The proposed legislation being put forward by our government is fascist. It is the type of legislation that Hitler used to conquer Germany 80 years ago, and with it the suffering of millions of people all over the globe, in one way or another. We have two generations of men in graves in Europe who lost their future to defend the world against precisely this type of legislation. They must be turning over in their graves if they are aware of the existence of this legislation. We need to ensure that this stops here. Any Liberal politician who attends any Remembrance Day celebration and supports this legislation is a criminal hypocrite.
(What is astonishing is the Liberal government doesn’t seem to think there is anything wrong with this, which is terrifying)
WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THIS INFO?
A gentleman once wrote, “Men do not exist for states: States are created to make it easier for men to attain some of their common objectives.” These are brilliant words that the Government of Canada, indeed every government around the world, is well advised to heed. Increasingly, however, the Canadian government, the bureaucrats and Trudeau seem to believe the opposite is true. In perhaps the most brazen recent example of the government’s arrogance and disregard for the rights of its people, Statistics Canada is attempting to acquire financial information from about 500,000 Canadians without their consent. What will Statistics Canada and the Liberal government do with the bank account records, including incomes and expenses, of one in every 20 Canadians? No one really knows! The legal theft of Canadians’ personal financial information is a violation of our trust and could cause substantial harm to Canadians. However, there is a greater cause for concern. If our government feels that it is appropriate to boldly take our financial data without consent, what else are they capable of? Justin Trudeau, instead of listening to the concerns of Canadians across our country of all political stripes, has chosen to blindly defend the actions of Statistics Canada. He should listen to the words of his late father and our former prime minister, Pierre Elliott Trudeau, and realize that government exists to serve the people, rather than the people existing to serve the government.
(The younger Trudeau has very little grasp of the consequences are of this decision. You would think someone in his caucus had the sense to speak up and raise the alarm)
Hmmm … another curious case of an overexposed “Anthony” — first Weiner and now Clement! This latest episode once again provides a cautionary tale for the boys out there: Your “Anthony” and your cellphone camera clearly represent a toxic mix!
(It is pathetic)
