ABC to develop a new fashion drama series Threads
According to Deadline, ABC is in the process of developing a new fashion drama series titled Threads that was penned by NBC’s Cruel Intentions writer Lindsey Rosin. Rosin will also serve as the show’s executive producer along with Random Hill and ABC Studios.
Threads will follow the story of aspiring designer Jessica Lee, who will find herself at the center of the biggest battle for power in the fashion world when the legendary founder of the iconic brand — where she currently works as an assistant — is forced to step down, setting off a cutthroat, high-stakes search for his replacement. Caught between her loyalty and her ambition, Jessica must navigate sex, secrets and succession as the beauty of fashion gets ugly.
Last month, it was reported that ABC is also developing another fashion drama series that will be written by Crazy Rich Asians writer Peter Chiarelli with designer Zac Posen to serve as an executive producer. Further details about the untitled series’s plot are being kept under wraps.
