Find out the true secrets of the Endgame in our . There have been a lot of theories that Avengers: Endgame involves an element of time travel – and, indeed, this may be the plan – but this is the first scene in the trailer to hint that might just be the case.
“This is going to work, Steve,” Black Widow reassures him. It looks as though Black Widow will have an exciting role in Avengers: Endgame; Steve Rogers is crumbling, devastated at what has just happened, and she’s the one offering strength and counsel. Whatever the Avengers’ plan may truly be, she believes it has a chance – even if Captain America isn’t so sure.
2. The Official Title Is Avengers: Endgame
The Avengers 4 trailer confirms that the official title is Avengers: Endgame – complete with a stunning new logo. It’s lifted from a crucial line of dialogue from Avengers: Infinity War; after giving Thanos the Time Stone, Doctor Strange told Iron Man, “We’re in the endgame now.” Strange had used the power of the Time Stone to view 14 million possible futures, and only identified one in which the heroes emerged triumphant. It’s commonly assumed he was acting in accordance with that timeline, ensuring that everything was in place so the Avengers could ultimately win. If that’s the case, as sinister as the title Avengers: Endgame sounds, it actually carries a sense of hope to it.
1. Ant-Man Escaped The Quantum Realm
The final scene in the Avengers: Endgame trailer shows Scott Lang arrive at the Avengers Compound. In the post-credits scene of Ant-Man & the Wasp, Lang traveled into the mysterious dimension known as the Quantum Realm to collect “healing particles” for his new ally, Ghost. Unfortunately, he was still in the Quantum Realm at the precise moment Thanos snapped his fingers. All the people who knew Scott was there vanished from existence in an instant, leaving him trapped inside this strange plane of reality. Ironically, the world just assumed he was another one of the countless people who were killed. His face is visible on the “list of the dead” monitors earlier in the trailer; that’s why Steve Rogers and Black Widow are so shaken when they realize Ant-Man has pulled up at their front door.
So how did Scott escape the Quantum Realm? This is a plane of reality where the normal laws of time and space don’t apply, and Janet Van Dyne suggested it’s filled with what she called “time vortexes.” It’s been theorized that Scott will use one of these time vortexes to get out of the Quantum Realm, and then seek out of the Avengers. The placement of this scene really does make it seem important, supporting popular theories that the Quantum Realm will be key to the Avengers’ plan to defeat Thanos and put the universe to right. We’ll find out when Avengers: Endgame releases in April 2019!
